{Book Worm}

Luke recently discovered how fun reading is. He will sit with a book at try to sound out the words and if he can't he will ask either Riley or myself what the word is. And he just keeps on going. I'm so proud of him because he really wants to learn and makes the effort and he doesn't get discouraged when he can't figure something out. It just goes to show you that each child learn at his or her own pace. Last year at this time my heart was swelling with pride because I watched Riley read and write with such ease...it all just came so naturally to her. It hasn't come quite as naturally to Luke, so I think that is why my heart swells with pride right now because I see him working so hard and learning so much. He started out the school year struggling with his abc's and now just a few months later he has mastered them and their sounds and can read! I am so happy to see, in both Riley and Luke, a desire to learn. It is a constant prayer of mine that my kids will always have a strong desire to learn. I also pray that if they do struggle that they will have determination to get through it.
