Holy Cow....we had an earthquake...in Illinois! I'm sure that most of you that read this experienced it as well, but I just thought I would tell you about my experience.
Okay, let me set the stage for you. Thursday night I watched Eli Stone and it was about him predicting an earthquake. I go to bed and wake up Friday morning at 4:30 to a loud rumbling and my bed shaking. I thought I was dreaming about Eli Stone and then realized that I was really awake and my bed was REALLY shaking! Before I could process what was going on Paige started screaming so I ran in there to get her. She was so afraid she was shaking...I later found out that she thought there were monsters in her room. Luke was also whimpering a bit wondering what was going on. Now, for that kid to be woken out of a sleep, well.....you know it's something serious! Riley was also awake wondering why her bed was shaking. I just told the kids that maybe an airplane was flying low and we felt the rumblings of that. I know, not very scientific....but I don't function well that early in the morning! Oh Yeah.....you're probably wondering where Mark was in all of this?! He had already left the house for his morning run (I think he actually rode his bike this particular morning). I could not wait for him to come home so I could ask him about it. I figured that since he was outside surely he would have answers. He didn't even feel it. He thought I was crazy for thinking that we had an earthquake. He then of course believed me after consulting a friend. Go figure.
Anyway, back to my story. So I get the kids settled down and climb back into my bed (Paige is with me of course) and a funny thought entered my head...."There's no way that was the rapture!" Now don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting my salvation, but.... it's the middle of the night, I awake to a loud sound, an earthquake and my husband is gone. Kind of funny. The rapture has also been on my mind because in my Bible study, we have been studying Matthew 24----The prophecy about the last days before Christ's return. If you've never read it....you should! Very fascinating. Have you ever "heard" about someones prediction about when the world will end? Whatever they say...don't believe them!! In chapter 24 verse 36 Jesus says "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son" Can you believe that?! Not even the Son or the angels in heaven know when that day will be! 1 Thessalonians 5:2 states "for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night." Hummmm...are you ready? Anyway....I'm not a Bible scholar.....I'm just a servant of the Lord seeking His truth.
P.S.
